Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made flatbread or pizza dough
- 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh arugula for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle or circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a pizza stone.
- Brush the surface of the dough lightly with olive oil.
- Wash and dry the pears, cut them in half, remove the core, and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a small bowl, combine the chopped walnuts with a drizzle of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a sprinkle of pepper.
- In another bowl, mix the crumbled Gorgonzola cheese with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Chop the fresh rosemary if using.
- Evenly distribute the sliced pears over the prepared flatbread.
- Sprinkle the cheese mixture generously over the pears.
- Scatter the chopped walnuts over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the chopped rosemary over the top, followed by salt and pepper to taste.
- Drizzle a little olive oil over the entire flatbread.
- Drizzle some balsamic glaze over the top.
- Carefully place the baking sheet or pizza stone in the preheated oven.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Keep an eye on it during the last few minutes to prevent burning.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
- Optionally, add a handful of fresh arugula on top for garnish.
- Drizzle a little more balsamic glaze over the top before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute the Gorgonzola cheese with another cheese of your choice if you prefer a milder flavor.
