- 1 cup of hummus
- 1 cup of tzatziki sauce
- 1 cup of assorted olives (Kalamata, green, and stuffed)
- 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (red, yellow, or orange)
- 1 cup of feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup of assorted nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pistachios)
- 1 cup of marinated artichoke hearts
- 1 cup of roasted red peppers
- 1 package of pita bread, cut into triangles
- 1 package of assorted crackers
- Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley, dill, or mint)
- Optional: sliced cured meats (prosciutto, salami, or chorizo)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dips: If making your own hummus, blend 1 can of drained chickpeas, 2 tablespoons of tahini, 1 clove of garlic, the juice of 1 lemon, and salt until smooth. For tzatziki, mix 1 cup of Greek yogurt with 1 grated cucumber (squeeze out excess water), 1 clove of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and a sprinkle of dill. Set aside in small bowls.
- Prepare the Vegetables: Rinse and slice the cucumber into rounds, halve the cherry tomatoes, and slice the bell pepper into strips. Arrange these colorful veggies on your board.
- Cheese and Olives: Crumble the feta cheese into a small bowl or directly onto the board. Leave olives whole or slice in half for easier snacking.
- Nuts and Artichokes: Leave whole nuts as is or lightly toast them in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Drain marinated artichoke hearts and place in a small bowl.
- Roasted Red Peppers: If using jarred roasted red peppers, drain and slice into strips. Alternatively, roast your own by charring over an open flame or in the oven until the skin is blackened, then peel and slice.
- Choose Your Board: Select a large wooden cutting board, platter, or serving tray based on the number of guests.
- Start with the Dips: Place bowls of hummus and tzatziki on opposite sides of the board for balance.
- Add the Vegetables: Arrange sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and bell peppers around the dips, creating a rainbow effect.
- Incorporate the Cheese and Olives: Scatter crumbled feta cheese and olives around the board.
- Nuts and Artichokes: Place the bowl of nuts next to the dips and scatter marinated artichoke hearts around.
- Roasted Red Peppers: Arrange roasted red pepper strips for easy access.
- Pita and Crackers: Cut pita bread into triangles and arrange in a pile or fan out. Place assorted crackers next to the pita.
- Garnish with Fresh Herbs: Sprinkle fresh herbs over the board for color and aroma.
- Add Optional Cured Meats: If using, arrange cured meats decoratively on the board.
