- 250g halloumi cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Slice the halloumi into 1 cm thick slices.
- Place the halloumi slices in a shallow dish for marinating.
- In a small bowl, combine olive oil, honey, soy sauce, red chili flakes, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
- Whisk until well combined and the honey is dissolved.
- Pour half of the glaze over the halloumi slices, ensuring they are well coated. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes (30 minutes for enhanced flavor).
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill pan if using.
- Place the marinated halloumi slices on the grill, leaving space between each slice.
- Grill for 2-3 minutes on one side until grill marks appear and the cheese softens.
- Flip the halloumi slices and grill for another 2-3 minutes. Brush with remaining chili glaze while grilling.
- Remove the grilled halloumi from the grill and place it on a serving platter.
- Drizzle any remaining chili glaze over the top.
- Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for garnish.
- Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.

- Adjust the amount of red chili flakes based on your spice preference.
- Serve with crusty bread or pita to soak up the extra glaze.
